The Vaccination Debate

in: nutrition hosted by Rebecca Brayton

The Vaccination Debate Vaccination has been credited with reducing the spread of many serious diseases and illnesses, including smallpox and polio. Though it may cause side effects, the medical community says the benefits outweigh any potential negative consequences. In recent years, the anti-vaccine camp has gained steam, with celebrity spokespeople – such as Jenny McCarthy and Jim Carrey – championing the cause. McCarthy has claimed that after her son received routine vaccinations at 15-months-old, he started exhibiting signs of autism. This claim has led to decreased vaccination rates, something which could lead to higher disease rates. In this video, WatchMojo.com learns more about the vaccination debate, and about the merits of vaccination.
