Swatch and Art Collection 2010: Designer Ivan Navarro
Ivan Navarro is the latest artist who had the honor of creating a watch for Swatch. Navarro moved from Santiago, Chile to New York in 1997 because he was interested in the New York art scene. Little by little, he started making money as an artist by showing his work. For Navarro, the image of death is connected with the idea of time: that’s why the clock-face is a skull and the bones are the minute and second hand – perpetually moving like time.
