A guard dog is meant to scare away an attacker or intruder, but this form of protection is not appropriate for every situation. Businesses may benefit from a guard dog on their premises, and so might some homeowners. It is also interesting to note that not every dog breed is a viable candidate for this job – overly friendly breeds can’t be trained as guards.
