Born July 6, 1946 in New Haven, Connecticut, George W. Bush grew up in Texas. His school career was spent at Yale, and following that was a controversial time in the Texas Air National Guard. He then earned an MBA from Harvard Business School, married Laura Welch, and entered the private sector by founding the Arbusto Energy petroleum company. Eventually, the call of politics was too strong, and he went to work for his father’s presidential campaign. He then successfully ran for governor of Texas, and it was from that office that he moved to the White House as the 43rd president of the United States.
