Originally crafted out of cigar boxes by poor and inventive musicians, cigar box guitars showcase a unique sound that suits folk, blues and bluegrass music. Various famous country singers and bluesmen began their careers jamming on this type of guitar – the list includes Carl Perkins, Blind Willie Johnson and Jimi Hendrix.
