He was appropriately nicknamed The Gipper, Teflon Ron and The Great Communicator. Before his successful political career, Ronald Reagan was an actor, where his Gipper moniker originated. Shortly after entering the political sphere, he became Governor of California, and from there he was elected the 40th President of the United States. With his entrance to the White House came sweeping changes to the nation, referred to as the Reagan Revolution. After his two terms, he retreated in private life and lived quietly until his death from complications due to Alzheimer’s in 2004.
