IBD Doesn't Have to Control Your Life Inflammatory bowel diseases – or IBDs – include illnesses such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and can be severely debilitating. There is currently no cure, and managing a disease like Crohn’s requires lifestyle changes, medication and possibly, invasive surgery. However, once the disease is in remission, the sky truly is the limit in terms of what IBD patients can achieve.
