Martin Sherman's 1979 play, 'Bent,' outlines the discrimination of gays during the Holocaust. A subject not often broached, the play revolves around a forgotten German law which makes homosexuality a criminal offense. The work was adapted to the silver screen in 1997 starring Clive Owen, Ian McKellen and Lothaire Bluteau.
