Bent : A Play About The Challenge of Survival

Bent : A Play About The Challenge of Survival
VOICE OVER: Christine Rodriguez
Martin Sherman's 1979 play, 'Bent,' outlines the discrimination of gays during the Holocaust. A subject not often broached, the play revolves around a forgotten German law which makes homosexuality a criminal offense. The work was adapted to the silver screen in 1997 starring Clive Owen, Ian McKellen and Lothaire Bluteau. Over the years 'Bent' has shocked and informed audiences about this little-discussed persecution. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com meets with Altera Vitae Productions to discuss their performance of 'Bent.' We talk about both the play's historical accuracy, and we learn more about the piece's far-reaching themes. For more information, click Here read more...
