Top 5 Most Liked Instagram Photos Ever

Want to know what makes for a viral picture? Welcome to MsMojo and today we're counting down our picks for the Top 5 Most Liked Instagram Photos Ever.
For this list, we’re looking at more than just the numbers and rather a mix of a photo’s likes, memorability and historical significance. Since some stars have racked up millions of likes on multiple photos over the years, we’re limiting it to one photo per celebrity.

#5: Taylor Swift with Roses

Everyone loves a celebrity feud, but people like make-ups even more. Years after the disastrous 2009 VMAs when Kanye infamously interrupted Taylor’s acceptance speech, T Swift posted this photo of an elaborate floral display that Kanye sent her. She even used the hashtag #KanTay2020, seemingly implying she would be happy to run alongside the rapper in the next election. In September of 2015, when this photo went viral, it seemed the bad blood between them had officially been put to bed - that is, until Mr. West referenced Swift in his song “Famous.” No stranger to Instagram success himself, Kanye’s wedding photo as posted by his wife Kim has earned more than 2.4 million likes. The thing is, Swift’s pic has over 2.6 million.

#4: Cristiano Ronaldo Kisses the Euro Cup

While the majority of the most popular Instagram photos of all time have been posted by famous musicians and social media stars, there is one notable exception. In 2016, footballer Cristiano Ronaldo posted a photo of himself kissing the Euro Cup after Portugal’s incredible victory over France, who were favored to win. The photo of the historic moment has earned a staggering 3.6 million likes - and counting - making it one popular kiss. Ronaldo proves that there’s clearly room for athletes in the upper echelons of Instagram fame - the sports star and heartthrob has earned himself over 105 million followers.

#3: Kendall Jenner’s Hair

Sometimes you don’t need a high profile announcement or an event to get millions of likes. Media darling and model Kendall Jenner has out-posted her more famous siblings with this simple photo that has garnered more than 3.6 million likes. At the time it was posted, it was the most liked photo of all time on the image-sharing platform. While the starlet has had many popular posts aside from this one, something about the elaborate heart shaped styling of her dark locks has kept it at the top. This reality star is only gaining popularity as time goes on, so we should likely expect more hit posts from her in the future.

#2: Selena Gomez’s Coke Ad

Of all the stars on Instagram, Selena Gomez has the most followers with over 123 million, making her account second in popularity only to Instagram’s own. While the singer and actress has had many hit posts, the one that long held the title as “most-liked” was this photo from a Coca Cola ad campaign. The coming together of iconic singer and iconic beverage earned over 6.6 million likes. Before that, an adorable 2016 post about her favorite night on tour was her best with over 4.8 million. Always ready and willing to one up herself however, Gomez set a new personal record in April 2017 with a little help from The Weeknd, getting over 7 million likes in one week.

#1: Beyoncé’s Pregnancy Photo

You know her as Queen Bey, but she’s also the queen of Instagram. Beyoncé pretty much broke the social media site in February of 2017 when she announced her new pregnancy with a gorgeous pic. Making the post twice as shocking, she not only revealed that she was expecting, but also expecting TWINS. Her fans … pretty much lost it. Within hours, the photo had broken the record previously held by Selena Gomez and as of April 2017, was at over 10.9 million likes. No stranger to hugely successful posts, one of the singer’s previous top images was of her holding her daughter Blue Ivy in coordinating ivory ensembles. Clearly, Instagram loves Bey AND her kids.
