Top 10 Best Bluetooth Speakers 2017 - GearUP^

Music lovers, listen up. Whether you want to listen to your tunes while spending time outside this time of year, or are simply looking for a portable wireless music solution for the indoors – or both -- there’s no shortage of Bluetooth speakers to choose from today. But with so many on the market it can be tough to know which one to invest in.

Hey everyone, welcome to Gear Up, the WatchMojo series that looks at the latest in gadgets, gear and games. I’m Marc Saltzman, and in this video, we’re going to look at 10 portable speakers, ranging in size, power, and features. Because prices fluctuate, we’re not giving out prices here, but you can easily find out by clicking the links underneath this video.

OK, not listed in any particular order…

#1: JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth Speaker

Whether you’re at the beach, by the pool or in a hot tub, there’s no reason to leave your music behind – and the waterproof JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth speaker is a valuable companion. In fact, your friends can pair their smartphones or tablets at the same time so you can take turns playing your favorite tracks as the JBL Connect feature lets you connect up to three devices simultaneously. If your phone needs a boost, charge it up with the dual USB port on the JBL Charge 3 Bluetooth speaker. The 20-watt speaker’s rechargeable battery lets you play your music for up to 20 hours between charges. A built-in mic lets you accept hands-free calls through the speaker.

#2: UE Megaboom Speaker

Also with support for multiple simultaneous devices, the UE Megaboom – with “UE” standing for “Ultimate Ears” – this portable speaker offers more advanced Bluetooth connectivity for better sound and with greater range as you can connect wirelessly from up to 100-feet away. Pair this speaker with virtually any Bluetooth-enabled device – like smartphones, tablets and laptops – and this IPX7-rated waterproof speaker means it can withstand being immersed in water up to 1 meter (or 3 feet) for up to 30 minutes. The free UE MEGABOOM app for iOS and Android devices lets you control your speaker from a distance, such as choosing between Stereo or Double sound, and more. UE Megaboom has a built-in mic with a dedicated Call button.

#3: Bose SoundLink Revolve+

Not one of the cheapest Bluetooth speakers, but this small Bose speaker is simply one of the best. One of the highest rated at CNET.com with a critic score of 8.5 out of 10, the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ offers loud, clear, deep sound – and since it’s Bose it’s hard to pinpoint where the sound is coming from. This 360° speaker was engineered to spread sound in every direction. Pick the colour, pair it with your phone or other Bluetooth device and carry it around with its flexible handle. For the audiophiles out there, this small rugged speaker packs a highly efficient transducer, dual-passive radiators and that omnidirectional acoustic deflector that Bose is known for. Battery life tops 16 hours between charges.

#4: Beoplay P2

Considered one of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market according to TechRadar, Beoplay P2 from Bang and Olufson is a very compact and flat speaker – measuring just 28 millimetres by 80 by 140 millimetres, and only 275 grams, yet it still manages to impress in the sound department. This splash and dust resistant speaker can be used with a quick shake or double tap to activate Beoplay P2’s smart features. Play, pause or skip tracks, launch your smartphone’s personal assistant or use the Beoplay App to wake you up with your favourite music, podcast or audiobook. Battery life tops 10 hours. And it ships in one of three colours: Black, Sand Stone or Royal Blue.

#5: iHome’s iBN350

The iBN350 is a Wireless Charging and Streaming Stereo Clock Radio. Therefore, you can wirelessly play your music via Bluetooth from your mobile device AND wirelessly charge up your Android smartphone by laying it down flat on top of the unit. Other features include a dual alarm for separate wake times, NFC (or Near Field Communication) tap-to-pair technology to instantly connect the Bluetooth device, a built-in mic with voice echo cancellation, if a call comes, in, USB charging port, and an optional auxiliary-in jack to play music from non-wireless devices. This affordable iHome might not have the best sound but as a clock radio for your night table, it’s quite good.

#6: Jamoji line from HMDX (“Homedics”)

From the makers of inexpensive Jam Bluetooth speakers comes Jam-oji…as the name suggests these are small, portable and affordable speakers made to look like popular emojis – whether it’s a smiley with heart eyes, sunglasses, a sly winking emjoi with its tongue sticking out and yes, even the poop emoji. All speakers are rechargeable and deliver up to six hours of play time on a full charge. For the price of a couple of drinks at Starbucks, Jamoji speakers are a great idea and are surprisingly loud.

#7: Klipsch Groove

Small but very powerful, clear and well-balanced, the Klipsch Groove Portable Bluetooth speaker was designed to bring big sound wherever life takes you. Whether it’s at home or in a hotel or a get together, this is room-filling sound that fits in the palm of your hand – between its 3-inch Full Range High Excursion Driver and Dual Side-firing Passive Bass Radiators – this speaker leverages 70 years of Klipsch’s heritage in the audio space. With an 8-hour battery and USB charging, the Klipsch Groove Bluetooth speaker is one of the best bang for the buck speakers – and it’s splash resistant, too, for outdoor fun.

#8: House of Marley Get Together BT

Add some boom to your room with the House of Marley Get Together BT Bluetooth Speaker, with front and back panels made of natural bamboo, as well as exclusive Rewind fabric -- made from recycled water bottles, hemp and organic cotton. Not only does this speaker look unique and it's environmentally sustainable, but more importantly it sounds great, too, with its room-filling 3.5-inch high-output woofers and 1-inch tweeters for crisp, clear highs. With a built-in rechargeable battery and integrated Bluetooth connectivity, this portable sound system is perfect streaming your tunes wirelessly from your favorite Bluetooth-enabled device – be it a smartphone, tablet or laptop – or hook up a wired player to the 3.5mm audio jack.

#9: Monster Superstar RaveBox

Perfect for indoor parties, the Monster Superstar RaveBox is a powerful boombox that doesn’t just sound good, but features a multicolored kaleidoscope that pulses to the beat. The aptly named RaveBox might be best used for EDM, especially the booming bass, with the powered subwoofer. Along with 12 hours of continuous audio, the Monster Superstar RaveBox also has a built-in phone charger to give your device a boost at the party, indoor and outdoor EQ modes, and it’s splash-proof and waterproof.

#10: Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Wireless Speaker

Supporting Bluetooth and AirPlay, the B&W Wireless Zeppelin looks amazing – it’s the shape of a zeppelin – but the sound is absolutely incredible – regardless of the music you listen to, and whether the music is stored locally or streaming from your favorite service. Even if it’s compressed audio like a Spotify or Apple Music stream or low-quality MP3 track you have on your phone, the B&W Zeppelin can make it sound significantly better. Use high-resolution audio files like FLAC and you’ll wonder how you lived without this wireless speaker. Style meets substance with the Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin.
