Top 10 Hottest Male Horror Movie Characters

They may be victims, vampires, or psychopaths, but there’s no denying these big screen dudes aren’t also oh-so-very- good-looking. Join MsMojo as we count down our picks for Top 10 Hottest Male Horror Movie Characters.

For this list, we’re looking at the most attractive big screen male characters from the horror genre and basing our choices on a mix of factors, including their appearance and the appeal of their personality and skills.

#10: David
“The Lost Boys” (1987)

The first of several vampires on this list, David is the mysterious leader of a gang of bloodsuckers called the Lost Boys that tries to manipulate the protagonist, Michael, into joining them. The epitome of an ‘80s bad boy, and with a highly unique look, the young Kiefer Sutherland brings a certain charisma to this antagonist that makes him all the more enticing. Though he’s not quite as good looking when he goes full vampire on us, he always returns to his suave look and we can’t help but swoon.

#9: Nick Jones
“House of Wax” (2005)

While this remake receives attention mostly for featuring Paris Hilton’s underwhelming performance, it also features Chad Michael Murray as the protagonist. When a group of teens is stranded on the side of the road, they come across a bizarre ghost town and the titular House of Wax, as well as the dark secrets they hold. The crux of the film is the relationship between Nick and his sister, as they struggle to keep each other alive. Released during Murray’s heyday, the film showcases Nick’s looks, determination and resourcefulness, as well as the general heroism that make him an easy choice for this list.

#8: Jerry
“Fright Night” (2011)

Another vampire on this list comes from this underrated remake. Colin Farrell’s Jerry moves next door to protagonist Charley and begins to arouse suspicion when the teen’s fellow students begin to go missing. As it turns out, Jerry has a habit of seducing and drinking blood from unwitting victims. The fact that his suaveness and allure can hide his villainous and manipulative ways is really a testament to how hot this character really is. You know that he’s bad news, but that just makes him all the more appealing.

#7: Glen Lantz
“A Nightmare on Elm Street” (1984)

Before he was Captain Jack Sparrow, Johnny Depp got his start in Wes Craven’s iconic horror classic. The boyfriend of series staple Nancy, Glen is one of the first characters to believe that Freddy Kreuger is killing teens in their sleep, and is a vital asset to our heroine. While the much poorer sequel featured the sexy Ron Grady, we had to choose one of the ‘80s’ most iconic heartthrobs in his debut performance here. Though he’s not quite the best at being protective, it’s clear that he would do anything for his girl, and that is something we can all get behind.

#6: Eddie Baker
“House on Haunted Hill” (1999)

If we had to be locked in a haunted psychiatric institute, we certainly wouldn’t mind being locked in one with Taye Diggs. That’s exactly what happens to Eddie in “House on Haunted Hill” except... without us. Showing bravery and resourcefulness in the face of some terrifying circumstances, he’s not only a hottie, but also a very valuable resource in a horror film, all of which definitely helped him earn his place here. After all, a guy that can help you survive is definitely good to hang on to.

#5: Holden McCrea
“The Cabin in the Woods” (2012)

While Chris Hemsworth’s Curt was also a viable candidate, we decided to go for Holden, since he’s got the brains to back up his looks. Designated as “the scholar,” Holden joins his friends on a trip to... well, a cabin in the woods, and horror movie tropes ensue. A lot of tropes. While he’s much better looking than the archetypal horror nerd, he serves the same purpose, being the smartest member of the group, and proves time and again to just be an all around good guy. And he looks like that? Guys like that don’t really exist, do they?

#4: Seth Gecko
“From Dusk till Dawn” (1996)

This cult classic horror comedy from Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez stars Tarantino himself alongside a young George Clooney. Need we say more? As the Gecko brothers, they’re a pair of criminals who become trapped in a strip club with a group of vampires. Seth is a badass throughout the film, occasionally quipping one-liners and always keeping his cool. You almost forget that he’s a murderer, thief and kidnapper because of Clooney’s natural charm.

#3: George Lutz
“The Amityville Horror” (2005)

Deadpool himself, Ryan Reynolds, portrays the Lutz patriarch in this remake of the 1979 classic. George and his family move into a house in which murders occurred one year earlier. Soon, the Lutzes begin to experience various paranormal events, the most important result of which is several scenes where George doesn’t wear a shirt. Or maybe the producers wanted to attract females to the theater. Either way, it worked. Being able to look at Reynolds, who’s sporting an uncharacteristic but surprisingly attractive beard, makes watching the mostly unimpressive film worth it.

#2: Louis de Pointe du Lac
“Interview with the Vampire” (1994)

Before the vampire craze of the late 2000s, Brad Pitt played one on the big screen and just oozed sexiness. As Louis, he plays a vampire who, through the titular interview, tells the story of his two hundred plus years of life, and the tale is simply ravishing. While the eye effects used on him would make most people look just plain creepy, they’re strangely alluring here. Brad Pitt may have made his dashing debut in the horror genre with “Cutting Class,” but we had to go with this more mature performance.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honourable mentions.

• James Hoyt
“The Strangers”(2008)

• Billy Loomis
“Scream” (1996)

• Ash Williams
“The Evil Dead” franchise (1981-)

• David Allen
“Evil Dead” (2013)

• Gabe Santora
“The Faculty” (1998)

#1: Patrick Bateman
“American Psycho” (2000)

Before Christian Bale was an Oscar winner, he played investment banker-slash-psychopathic murderer Patrick Bateman. This character has such a charming personality and affinity for music that no one even suspects his double life, which proves to be deadly for his victims. Sure, he is way too into himself... and kills a few people throughout the movie, but is there anything sexier than a confident, naked bloody man with a chainsaw? While Leonardo DiCaprio and Brad Pitt were also considered for the role, there’s no doubt that Christian Bale made Patrick one of the sexiest and scariest characters in all of horror.
