Top 10 Feel Good Christmas YouTube Videos

For this list, we are looking at the most heart warming and feel good videos inspired by the holiday season. We ranked our list using a combination of different factors, including personal preference, views, and votes from our users. If Christmas commercialism has got you feeling down, then check these videos out to remind yourself that there is more to Christmas than food and presents!

#10: Silent Night – Miau
YouTube Channel: alanice

Kicking off our list is something entirely new and original – a cat video! Okay, so YouTube may not have a shortage of cat videos, but this video earns a spot on our list for how creatively simple it is. Essentially, multiple cats are cut and edited together to make it seem as though they are performing the classic Christmas carol Silent Night – and it is perfect. Other videos have tried to accomplish the same thing, and one even added dogs to create a balanced melody of Feliz Navidad, but this Silent Night rendition stands the test of time and is just as funny as it was when it was uploaded in 2006.

#9: Best of Star Wars Music Light Show – Home featured on ABC’s Great Christmas Light Fight!
YouTube Channel: Tom BetGeorge

It’s hard to beat the combination of Christmas and Star Wars. If you can’t wait for the release of the upcoming film, this video may be able to tide you over. This light display has absolutely everything – the colours change depending on the tone of the music and they even incorporate sound effects from the film, such as gunfire from the epic space battles and the iconic sound of swinging lightsabers. As cool as this set up is, however, we are just thankful we aren’t neighbours with these people – seriously, how would you possibly get any sleep with the noise, light, and excitement?!

#8: Carlson School of Management Flash Mob, Deck the Halls

Who doesn’t love a good flash mob? Students from the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota are the ones who put this production together, proving that business students also have a creative side. As most flash mobs do, this one begins slowly, with a lone student playing the saxophone. We know something is up, however, when the person who appears to be donating money to the lonely player begins to sing along, and others soon join her. What follows is a beautiful rendition of “Deck the Halls” that sees even the security guard get in on the act.

#7: Mary, Did You Know? - Pentatonix

Pentatonix captured the hearts of millions back in 2011 when they won the third season of “The Sing-Off”, and haven’t let up since, building a massive online fan base. The acapella group’s rendition of “Mary, Did You Know?,” which appears on their second Christmas album, currently sits as their eighth most-viewed on YouTube. The track was a critical and commercial success, peaking at 26 on the US Billboard Hot 100. The video itself is simplicity personified, as it shows the members each holding a single candle while singing in a lightly lit cave, giving the depth of the song and its meaning the attention it deserves.

#6: Santa Parkour

Have you ever wondered how Santa Claus gets to all those houses in just one night? He uses parkour, of course! At least, according to Ronnie Street Stunts. In this video, the typical Christmas carol is replaced by dubstep as Santa leaps, climbs, and backflips his way around town. Unfortunately, all of Santa’s physical talent and coordinator can’t save him from the ultimate weapon – surprise. In a scene that feels like it came straight out of a movie, ahem The Santa Claus, jolly old Saint Nick gets distracted by a little boy and falls off the roof, leaving nothing but an empty red suit behind.

#5: Angels We Have Heard on High (Christmas w/ 32 fingers and 8 thumbs)

The setting for this video just screams Christmas –from the model train set to the miniature skating rink to the classic Christmas tree surrounded by gifts. Of course, we have to also mention the song, as the guys come together and produce a stunning rendition of “Angels We Have Heard on High”, with all playing the same piano. The following year, the boys decided to build on their success, and made another video for the same carol, this time with words and a record breaking 1,000-person nativity play production to go along with it. ThePianoGuys seem to truly capture the meaning of Christmas in both theses videos, which is why they earn a spot on our list.

#4: Christmas Surprise Traffic Stop with Lowell Police

Let’s face it – getting pulled over by the police can be a frustrating experience, especially for a speeding ticket. But how would you react if you were pulled over by Santa Claus? That’s essentially the set-up for this video – officers from Lowell police department pulled over unsuspecting speeding people for the sole reason of giving them Christmas presents. They spared no expense – seriously, some of the gifts included an Xbox One and a brand new flat-screen television. We can’t help but wonder, however, if the City of Lowell saw a dramatic spike in speeding violations as a result.

#3: Epic Christmas Caroling

One Christmas tradition that seems to have gone by the wayside in the modern era is Christmas carolling, something which the performance art group Improv Everywhere sought to rectify in this video. At first, we see a group of carollers straight out of the world of Dickens singing to a surprised family on their doorstep. This quickly escalates, however, as an entire orchestra soon shows up on their front lawn and begins to play. To top it off, several Santas and snowmen show up and begin to dance, even bringing their own snow, giving this family a feel-good moment they will never forget.

#2: The Digital Story of the Nativity

Whether you are religious or not, almost everyone knows the story of Jesus’ birth on Christmas. But what if the story happened in the modern era? What would have been different? Well, we certainly find out in this video. Naturally, the angel Gabriel texts Mary to tell her she will give birth to the Son of God, which causes Mary to immediately read up on the Holy Spirit on Wikipedia before emailing Joseph. If you couldn’t make the birth, don’t sweat it – Joseph live tweets the entire event and even posts on Facebook. This video does an amazing job of capturing the idea that even though times change, the story of Christmas remains the same.

Before we go to our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:

HM1: Jingle Hoops

HM2: Christmas Presence (Part 1) – Simon’s Cat

HM3: Dancing With An iPod in Public – Christmas Edition

HM4: Funny Scary Snowman Prank – Christmas Special 2013

HM5: Sia Chandelier Holiday Version

HM6: Christmas Food Court Flash Mob, Hallelujah Chorus - Must See!

Everyone knows how exciting it is to open presents on Christmas morning and how incredible it can be to discover that Santa got you the perfect gift, but this kid takes it to a whole new level. This video takes us back to Christmas morning in 1998 when a young boy named Brandon Kuzma opens his present, only to discover, to his delight, that he has been given a Nintendo 64. The kid goes absolutely berserk; fist pumping not once, not twice, but six times! The look in his eyes when he first realizes what he received is both hilarious and slightly terrifying. We only hope his sister got a chance to play.

That’s it for our countdown, we hope you enjoyed yourself. Be sure to vote on upcoming episodes on our website, check us out on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram, and subscribe to for more great top 10s every day.
