For this list, we decided to rank the characters that just give us a glimpse of joy, help, hilarity or mystery before disappearing once again. Just so we're clear, we're not looking for villains and enemies, as well as sidekicks and teammates, as all those characters are for lists of their own. We are allowing for characters who become playable in later installments, so long as it's not in the game in question. Also the usual rule applies, one per franchise.
