CITY, MEXICO |

City:
Mexico City
Country: Mexico
Time zone (UTC) -6 UTC CST
Calling codes Country +52 / Area 55
Mexico City represents a megacity
nestled in the Valley of Mexico. The
city dates all the way back to 1521
and served as the capital of Aztec
Empire, under the name of Tenochtitlan.
Once the municipality was abolished
in 1928, the city exploded in growth,
with the population of the greater
metropolitain area accounting some
20 million citizens.
Only
Tokyo has a greater population base,
but Mexico City's population is set
to double every three decades.
Tourists
appreciate Mexico City's mestizo culture,
which morphs native Indian (Nahuatl)
and Spanish lineages.
