Welcome To Temptation Campus: Sex,
Drugs And Rock 'n' Roll
This
guide would be incomplete without talking
about some of the temptations that students
go through in college. They fall under the
following interdependent categories: partying,
eating, sex
and money.
Partying
School
is as much about partying as it is about
studying. Finding equilibrium between the
two will make your college years the best.
Here are some basic tips to keep you out
of trouble while you experience the best
that college has to offer.
Look
Around
School
has lots to offer but if you walk around
with your head down, it will all pass you
by. Keep your head up for the latest events,
ask classmates if they are doing anything
and inquire about who throws the best parties.
Incidentally, you should look into throwing
a couple yourself and stake that claim.
Be
Selective
You
will have ample parties and events to choose
from. Make sure that you do not become the
perennial guest who overstays his welcome.
Absence does make the heart grow fonder
so try not to go to everything that is offered.
Find
Out Details
Nothing
will put a damper on your mood like getting
to a party and finding out that you do not
fit in and have nothing in common with the
people present. In other words, make sure
that you do not show up in leather at a
campus PETA party.
Do
Not Be Snobby
Despite
the previous tip, make an effort to party
with people from different walks of life.
If you are an athlete,
go to a party thrown by the ''artsy'' crowd.
You will meet new people and exercise your
interpersonal skills. If you wish to become
a white-collar employee down the road, your
ultimate success could hinge on how well
you relate to the blue-collar folks and
vice-versa.
Spread
The Word
There
are always great parties but not everyone
knows about them. Give friends and acquaintances
the scoop so that they return the favor
when you have nothing to do on a Friday
night.
Do
Not Be Shy
Shyness
is an attractive trait according to some,
but when meeting new people, you must come
out of your shell. Everyone is seeking to
make new friends, even if they act otherwise.
Do not wake up on graduation day with regret
at not having approached all of the people
that you wanted to meet.
Let's
Dance
No
one will urge you to bust a move if you
feel uncomfortable. But you should at least
move when you go out. Drinking
beer in the corner will get you nowhere.
If you are interested in someone, dancing
is the best way to break the ice. Who said
talking was necessary? Your mouth will be
busy doing other things
anyway…
