Crossing
Paths: Here Is Your Future Boss
What
is key to remember with your professors
and classmates is that each may resurface
as a boss. Some teachers are personable
while others are tough. Bosses will be the
same. Some instill fear while others show
you compassion. For better or worse, you
should view each one like a rite of passage,
a step in your development.
Never
make a professor
look bad. They have accomplished too much
in their lives to let a young punk derail
it. A veteran of many battles, they have
found in school a fiefdom to call their
own. You will often find similar characters
in business. While you feel that you will
one day achieve greater things, you should
come back to reality and acknowledge that
you live in their shadow at present time.
Chain
Of Command
In
school, business or the military, respecting
the chain of command makes the difference
between moving up and being shoved aside.
People like to be in control. Those who
are in charge want undisputed authority
and tend to dislike loose cannons. Rebels
are seen as threats and are contained because
they endanger the mission.
Talented
individuals are often given leeway to be
themselves but when push comes to shove,
being too independent could land you in
hot water, or worse, in shark infested waters.
That
being said, conflicts are bound to happen,
be it in your personal or professional life,
in sports as in business.
