the firm. As technology plays a greater
part in business and society, so does the
role played by CIOs and CTOs. As a result,
they must work closely with all to ensure
that a firm's strategic plan is feasible
from a technological perspective.

Information Officers (CIO) Or Chief Technology
Officers (CTO) oversee operations
issues such as procedures, budgets, hiring,
procurement and all matters pertaining to
administration, such as financial reporting
and payroll. It is for this reason that
the lines between technology head and CEO
will become increasingly blurry in the future.
If you are confident in your technical skills,
you may wish to major in MIS and minor in
Marketing or Finance for a fast pace rise
to the top.
CIOs work with CFOs and oversee equipment
purchases, technology upgrades and new capital
expenditures. As one can imagine, CIOs must
be well aware of emerging trends and technological
innovation to ensure that a company does
not slip in the marketplace.
