Challenging
Professors Versus Heckling Them
Parents,
friends, professors,
colleagues and bosses are human like you.
Celebrities, whether they are athletes,
entertainers, musicians and actors are also
human like you. For this reason, being in
awe of their accomplishments will always
render you a groupie. You have to wake up
thinking that you are the rock star, the
guitarist, the bassist or the drummer. But
if you have a virtuoso in front of you,
then you should pace yourself until the
stage is set for you.
It
is important to respect and give credit
but the key is to take what they have accomplished,
recognize the secret to their success, extend
and build upon it. Your parents have probably
done many great things. Your father walked
barefoot for 10 miles in the snow to get
to school, right? Well, you should walk
20 miles. If you choose to walk 10, do it
in half the time.
Living
in the shadows of anyone is not the way
to go. Learn from them, listen to them,
study what they did, but always strive to
do better. Your folks did not sacrifice
and put you through school for you to be
a passer-by. They put you through school
so you can become better than they are.
Now imagine you were financing your own
education. Shouldn't you maximize your investment?
