Angus Young is the lead guitarist for AC/DC, a hard rock band. Along with his brother, he played in a handful of bands in Sydney before creating AC/DC.

Aside for being noted as a great guitar player, Young is famous for his on-stage attire. At one point, he wore a costume which included a cape, hat, and top which had a Superman-type symbol with the letter A on it. Then, listening to his sister, he started wearing his Ashfield Boys High School uniform and it has since become synonymous with the band.

Young is also very active while on stage, jumping and running around and also doing his version of the duck walk, inspired by his idol Chuck Berry. He is also known to perform strip acts on stage and yet another gimmick is his spastic act in which he falls to the ground and starts kicking, spinning, and shaking.

You’ll never see him without his signature Gibson SG, which has pretty much become synonymous with him and his playing.

Not only is Young a masterful performer he’s also an underrated guitarist. He continues to come up with some of the most memorable riffs in the history of rock and roll, whether its Highway to Hell, Back in Black or Thunderstruck, they’re all engrained in every Rock fan’s brain.  He was never one to be flamboyant in his playing and has always stuck to his simple bluesy riff-rock formula, but the riffs are so good it doesn’t matter. Just like his band, he hasn’t changed much over the years, hard rocking yet dependable. In an interview he was once asked what kind of current music he liked or was listening to, he answered that he didn’t listen to anything and only worried about his own band and what they were doing. That pretty much sums up all that is Angus Young and his bandmates, not worried about what else is going on in the music industry, just happy to be making music they like and making it well
