Biography:

Richard Henry "Peter" Sellers was an English actor, comedian and performer who is considered one of the greatest comedy acts of all time.

Sellers began performing with his family in a “variety circuit”, it was there that he learned the art of the “gag”. He was very versatile, and could play numerous musical instruments. His most famous role over the years was one he would play five
times, as Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther movies (six if you count the posthumously released 1982 Trail of the Pink Panther, which included best-of clips as well as extended/deleted scenes originally shot for The Pink Panther Strikes Again six years prior. He was considered a masterful actor and could switch easily from broad comedies to more intense dramatic performances. He died of a heart attack at the age of 54.

Sellers was awarded the Commander of the Order of the British Empire in 1966.
