Biography:

Michael Jeffrey Jordan was an American basketball player, minor league baseball player, businessman, legend and cultural icon.

Jordan played basketball at University of North Carolina, then joined the Chicago Bulls in the NBA in 1985. He was drafted after Hakeem Olajuwon and Sam Bowie with the third pick in the draft. The Bulls had suffered in the early 1980s but drafting Jordan changed their fortunes.

He played there for 13 seasons that saw him win 6 NBA championships, he was the MVP of the league 5 times, and MVP of the finals 6 times. Throughout his career, Jordan refined his skills and became a complete player.

His sponsorship deals, with Nike in particular, redefined the business of sports.

Jordan retired for the first time in 1993 claiming he lost the desire to play the game, but was also shaken by the murder of his father months earlier. He then made an attempt at a career in baseball, and ended up playing in the minors for the Chicago White Sox organization.

His performance was less than great and returned to the Bulls for more glory. While some naysayers were unsure of his abilities after his comeback, his performance shut everyone up and only added to the legend of his airness.

He then retired a second time only to return again after purchasing the Washington Wizards.

Michael Jordan is arguably the best basketball player of all time and one of the greatest athletes of all times.
