Biography:

Mark Cuban is the quirky billionaire who is now the owner of Dallas Mavericks NBA team. He was always entrepreneurial even as a child, and ended up studying at Indiana University.

Soon after college he found work in the tech industry and eventually founded a company called MicroSolutions, he sold this company to CompuServe and made millions. His next step was to create Broadcast.com with fellow college basketball enthusiast Todd Wagner which was a website that broadcasted sports games and events over the internet. In the middle of the dot-com boom he sold the company to Yahoo! for $5.7 billion in stock. Cuban's no nonsense approach was demonstrated by the fact that he sold Yahoo! stock as the market tanked, effectively retaining his wealth. Had it not been for that, Cuban would have gone down in history as just another Web-made billionaire who lost his paper wealth. Of course, knowing Cuban, he would have struck gold with another project sooner or later.

With some of the proceeds of his sale, he purchased the Dallas Mavericks and attends almost all of their games while wearing a team jersey. He often flies his private jet to away game cities. He has been very outspoken and has racked up 1 million dollars in fines from the NBA. He is also at the forefront of the high definition TV movement, as co-founder of HDNet with Wagner, the two are also busy building he 2929 Entertainment production company.
