Biography:

Hugh Hefner is the founder and editor in chief of Play boy magazine, and has become a spokesman for the sexual revolution that exploded in the 1960s and 1970s.

Hef, as he is affectionately known, grew up in a Methodist household where the family showed little affection towards each other. Before starting Play boy, he was working at Esquire magazine and it was there that he realized the need to package sexuality into something that men not only found acceptable but something that they desired. Once Hefner established himself as a sophisticated personality who enjoyed the company of young women, he had created an image that every man wanted to be and Play boy never looked back. He also opened nightclubs in the 1960s and 1970s that featured Playboy “bunnies” and continued to date younger and prettier women into his old age.

He is now the poster boy for senior citizen’s retaining their sexuality. More than that, he is the poster boy for walking to the beat of your own drum and not caring too much about the institutional imperative. The fact that his magazine is the envy of his former employer is simply cherry on the icing.
