1st Period:
Ironic that RDS was showing where Bruins goalie Tim Thomas was giving up goals throughout the series that Chris Higgins scored his first goal… between Thomas’ legs!
Note to Habs: shoot between his freaking pads!
Koivu was 6/6 in faceoffs in the first period. Maybe that will shut up that douchebag from the French media who dared suggest - at season’s end - that the Habs were better without Koivu.
Intermission Deep Thoughts:
Speaking of Ze French Media: what the F is up with RDS:
- on the one hand, Martin Brodeur is NOT to blame for the Devils’ loss… that’s the team’s fault and Brodeur is one amongst many. Sean Avery did not beat Brodeur… no, the Rangers beat the Devils.
- then… they talk about Jose Theodore. Theo singlehandedly beat the Wild… that’s wrong for two reasons: the Wild are not yet eliminated, and if they lose, they lose to the Avs.
- they ask if Theo might end up in Ottawa to replace Ray Emery… and mention that Emery might end up in Los Angeles… which would be a shame because that would cause uncertainty for Jonathan Bernier… you guessed it: a Quebecer.
My my… CBC is biased towards Toronto - or against Montreal… but let’s hope RDS does not join CBC overnight in biased commentary or reporting.
2nd Period:
Kessel strikes again, second of the series, second in two games. Julien is getting a lot of cred for outcoaching Carbo, which is not false. But how much of a genius was Julien if he sat out Kessel the first 3 games? The guy was a 6th overall pick if I recall right. You needed 4 games to realize he could help you score?
Begin… to Plekanec… and f***********************k yeah. Higgins gets his first of the series… Plekanec stops playing like a girlie man and beats Thomas. Boo-f**********g yeah.
2-1 Habs despite, what was that, like 3 goal posts?
Intermission Deep Thoughts:
Speaking of that goal: I give Begin a lot of credit for the pass. That took patience. But for Jacques Demers to say “quelle passe de Begin” instead of praising Plakanec’s pirouette and puck-handling does add more ammo to my argument that language bias will always hinder reporting in this city - and I guess my comments are no exception of that.
3rd Period:
Bruins tie it early on…
But Francis Bouillon gets a lucky bounce to put the Habs back on top…
Not for long… Damn Bruins… Bruins win it… off to Game 7 - Monday night in Montreal.
