Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill was born November 30th, 1874 into a prominent family, and overcame a severe speech impediment to become a war correspondent as he grew older. His political career began in 1900 with a Conservative Parliamentary seat, and from there he ascended to nationwide prominence. Though he was credited with some terrible decisions during World War I, he became an invaluable wartime leader during the Second World War. Churchill, along with U.S. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt and Communist Russia's Joseph Stalin, were instrumental in ending that conflict.
