Top 10 Annoying TV Kids

Script written by Tiffany Ezuma. Kids on TV shows can either be the best or the worst. Most of the time, it’s the latter. In this video, WatchMojo.com counts down our picks for the top 10 most annoying children on TV. For this list, we picked some of the most pointless kids to ever appear on the small screen. We tried to impose a not-so-strict age limit on entrants; meaning older kids who don’t have much to do with their parents on their respective shows didn’t qualify. Top 10 Annoying TV Kids

Kids on TV shows can either be the best or the worst. Most of the time, it’s the latter. Welcome to WatchMojo.com, and today we’re counting down our picks for the top 10 most annoying children on TV.

We picked some of the most pointless kids to ever appear on the small screen. We tried to impose a not-so-strict age limit on entrants; meaning older kids who don’t have much to do with their parents on their respective shows didn’t qualify.

#10: Stephanie Tanner
“Full House” (1987-95)

It’s tough being the middle child but that’s no excuse to be obnoxious. Stephanie always seemed to have something sassy to say but we rarely wanted to hear it. If she wasn’t busy being jealous of D.J. then she was trying to be cuter than Michelle. The girl was never happy being herself and always wanted to act older than she was. And, hearing her say “how rude!” constantly became more grating over time.

#9: Becca Moody
“Californication” (2007-)

You could chalk all of Becca’s issues up to typical teenage angst and daddy issues but this girl never seemed to appreciate anything Hank did for her. He wasn’t always in the running for father of the year but he tried! All Becca was good for was calling him out on every little thing he did wrong. At times it was effective but overall, it was just too much to listen to.

#8: Justin Stewart
“Power Rangers Turbo” (1997)

As the blue Power Ranger, Justin was the youngest of the bunch. While he was supposed to come off as a precocious, highly intelligent kid who skipped a grade, he was really just a nuisance. Justin wasn’t mature and he was a poor replacement for the Billy, the original blue ranger. There’s nothing more annoying than being expected to take advice from someone who hasn’t gone through puberty yet. He had no chance of fitting in.

#7: A.J. Soprano
“The Sopranos” (1999-2007)

It’s hard to feel bad for someone who has everything handed to him. Anthony Junior has the classic case of rich kid blues. Basically, he runs around spending his daddy’s money, flunking school, and doing stupid stuff with his friends who are equally as spoiled. The writers tried to redeem his character with a suicide attempt but it was too little, too late in this case. They should’ve developed his character more along the way.

#6: Henry Mills
“Once Upon a Time” (2011-)

Henry has to be one of the whiniest characters of all time. Sure, he was right when no one believed him about Storybrook’s origins but that doesn’t mean anyone wants to hear him repeat himself over, and over, and over again. This kid sounds like a broken record, and with all the magic on this show; you’d think they would find a way to shut him up. If the writers don’t want to kill him off, a sleeping curse would suffice.

#5: Sally Draper
“Mad Men” (2007-15)

It’s hard to care about Sally’s character when there are so many much more interesting people on the show. Of course, Sally is more memorable than Bobby but it’s hard to understand what her purpose is. Most of the time she just makes bitchy comments to her mom or she’s off with that creepy Glen kid. Watching Sally’s plotlines is always a weird experience, especially when she got sent home from a sleepover for “inappropriate behavior.”

#4: Dana Brody
“Homeland” (2011-)

We get it. Dana’s dad is a terrorist, her mom is kind of clueless, and everything sucks. But it’s hard to feel bad for someone who is so moody and negative. Instead of making the best out of a bad situation, Dana chooses to make it even worse with her selfish actions. In a show where terrorism is a major threat, no one has time for a teenager with an attitude problem.

#3: Manny Delgado
“Modern Family” (2009-)

On all counts Manny is a lovely kid – he’s kind, considerate, and wiser than his peers. But most of the time Manny comes off as too much of a know-it-all for his own good. He’s that kid in school you couldn’t wait to get away from since all he would do is spout useless facts to show he knew more than you. He comes off as more of busybody old woman than a 12 year-old boy.

#2: Carl Grimes
“The Walking Dead” (2010-)

To his credit, Carl has come a long way as he’s gotten older but you can’t help but remember his character from the first few seasons. He’s lonely as the only living kid in this damaged world but it’s not like he’s the only one dealing with stuff. His survival instinct didn’t seem incredibly strong, so viewers find it incredibly annoying that he continues to live while worthier survivors are killed.

Before we unveil our top pick, here are a few honorable mentions:
- Astor Bennett “Dexter” (2006-13)
- Shane Botwin “Weeds” (2005-12)
- Anthony Fremont “The Twilight Zone” (1959-64)

#1: Joffrey Baratheon
“Game of Thrones” (2011-)

It’s pretty fitting that Joffrey is a king because he’s definitely the king of annoying TV characters. He’s smug, arrogant, and weak-willed, most of his decisions seem like they’re based on the whims of a six-year-old rather than a rational thinking person, he treats others horribly and plays with other people’s lives as if it were a game. You know you’re an awful person when you make viewers empathize with Sansa.
