Born October 28th, 1987 in Long Beach, California, Frank Ocean began making music while growing up in New Orleans. After Hurricane Katrina, he moved to Los Angeles to pursue a musical career and started writing songs for other artists. Ocean soon joined hip hop group OFWGKTA and broke out on his own after releasing his first mixtape. Following his confession of having feelings for another man, Ocean's first full-length album, 'Channel Orange,' dropped in 2012 and was a critical and commercial success.
