Georges Laraque: Racism, Role of Enforcer, Charity Work
Georges Laraque spent many years of his life as an enforcer in the NHL, using his size to stand up for his teammates. Now, he is a member of Canada’s Green Party. Laraque released his autobiography, “The Story of the NHL’s Unlikeliest Tough Guy,” and with his trademark brutal honesty addressed a number of hot-button issues like drug-use and racism. In this video, WatchMojo.com got the chance to speak with Laraque about his book, where he reveals the challenges he faced in his youth and those he encountered when he entered professional sports in terms of race and his role as an enforcer in the NHL.
