Run 90s Sonic! Don’t let your awful future catch up with you!
Sega has announced yet another Sonic game is on the way, another so soon? Yes, you see…its easy to produce a new video game sequel every year when you focus exclusively on quantity….and “speeding” through the necessary stages of game quality testing (pardon the pun). Anyways, the next Sonic game is called “Sonic Generations”, and seeks to merge the fan-favorite 2D side-scrolling levels of the past with the atrocious 3D levels of the past decade and a half. The most interesting part of this game, at least for me, is that it will see no love for Nintendo’s platforms. Learn more after the jump… continue reading...
Your favourite classic video game characters are also running toward the finish line on Black Friday.
Seeing as how this is Black Friday, I thought it would be really amusing to see how your favourite classic video game characters fare in their own race. Of course, they don’t have to contend with biting children, obese middle-aged women or crowds that could pass as the extras in a zombie flick. Enjoy! continue reading...
He’ll always be Dr. Robotnik to me.
I love Gametrailers.com, more specifically ScrewAttack’s Stuttering Craig and his wildly amusing and informative take on older games. With the release of Sonic Colors, and my never ending complaining about the name of Dr. Eggman, I thought I’d share his latest video with you. continue reading...
It’s like the film Groundhog Day, but with a Hedgehog…
Have you been a loyal Sonic fan since good old 8-bit days of Sega Vs Nintendo? Have you often wondered why? It’s not like Sonic has had any good releases since the early 90s, but you keep holding out hope that he can make a game that’s half decent. continue reading...

I remember you Sega Master System! Happy Birthday!
It’s been sadly (and understandably) overlooked by all the excitement and celebrations surrounding the 25th anniversary of the NES and Super Mario Bros… but this week was also the 25th anniversary of another classic video game console: the Sega Master System. continue reading...
“Yes Sonic, you are going around in circles.”
Believe it or not, Sega’s nostalgic romp in Sonic 4 may be the last chance many fans give the blue hedgehog to escape eternal damnation. Yes, it has been around 15 years since we cared about this sneaker wearing speed demon, and from what I can gather the mixed reviews mean that die hard fans are throwing in the towel. continue reading...
You said it dude… Your games really suck!
Sonic The Hedgehog’s next adventure ‘Sonic Colors’ is heading to retail next month, and is actually looking pretty good for a change. So is making good Sonic games Sega’s entire plan from now on? Nope, in fact its only the first part of a plan that involves Sega’s plan to get Sonic’s long history of major misfires off of store shelves permanently. Why? Well because its part of their newfound effort to “increase the value of the brand.” continue reading...
This new focus on in your face color reminds me of the Game Gear Vs Game Boy era.
Sega has just confirmed that ‘Sonic Colors’ will see a November 16th release date. They are also taking the opportunity to show-case the game’s finalized box art and gameplay in an all-new fast paced trailer. Sounds good right? Well, the fans praying for Sonic’s return to prominence may be in for a shock. continue reading...
Over the years many iconic video game franchises have tried and failed to enter the third dimension. For every success story like Mario or Zelda, there are dozens of other unfortunate Mascots, who for one reason or another couldn’t keep up and remained stuck in the past. In this edition of Stuck in 2D, WatchMojo.com takes a look at the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise’s various high profile failures to adapt to the times and become a blazing success in 3D. continue reading...
