The Nintendo 3DS is shaping up to be a powerful little machine with a fine ability to push polygons. In fact, Ubisoft Montreal- the developers of Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell 3DS says that they were “able to run the Unreal engine on this console console, which is pretty impressive for a handheld machine, and the 3D doesn’t affect the performance.” However, Epic Games may have something to say about this revelation. Ever since the launch of the Wii in 2006 with it’s premiere hardcore title Twilight Princess, gamers have been counting the minutes until the next installment will arrive. Now, Nintendo has announced that they will only release the game when it’s quote on quote “Perfect” despite earlier promising a 2010 premiere.
As far as I’m concerned, that means we can honestly expect a holiday 2011 release at the earliest (given Nintendo’s track record). continue reading...
