Dubbed the “3DS Expansion Slide Pad”, this add-on has been rumoured for several weeks and dismissed by many as preposterous. For one thing, such an addition should have been included from day one in the original 3DS hardware. Nintendo may call a mulligan on the 3DS and try again with a new console very soon.
Nintendo is on the defensive only months after releasing its innovative, yet costly 3DS platform with no must-have games. Due to its incredibly bad showing (relative to previous hardware launches), Nintendo has even gone as to far as to drop the price of the system by a third (80$), and that seems like just the beginning of what they’ll due to reignite consumer interest.
