Royal Caribbean’s ‘Oasis of the Seas’ will embark from Florida on Saturday for its inaugural seven-day cruise in the Caribbean with 5,400 passengers aboard. The ship is the largest in the world, and has been at Port Everglades since November 13.

Royal Caribbean’s Oasis of the Seas, unveiled in Fort Lauderdale, is nearly 50% larger than the largest cruise ships now at sea. But it’s not just the ship’s size that has people talking. Built at a record cost of $1.4 billion, the 225,282-ton vessel is chock-full of industry firsts housed within seven themed neighborhoods. The terrifyingly creepy Disney World ride, “It’s a Small World,” has reopened after being closed for renovations.  The ride was designed to bring acceptance for different cultures, and now it also showcases Disney’s portrayal of various cultures/species with characters from Aladdin, Finding Nemo and the Little Mermaid.  Read more… continue reading...

Architect David Fisher has designed a rotating skyscraper.  Each floor rotates independently and therefore the result is a building that changes shape.  One is set to be built in Dubai in the near future, and apparently he has been looking for a location in Manhattan.  Tomorrow, he has a press conference set for Miami, which might mean he’s found a location for his bizarre structure there.  Read more… continue reading...
