toronto-traffic-is-something-to-cry-about

Interesting piece in today’s Globe & Mail that, no joke, is about the Commuter Pain Index.

Yeah, you read that right.

A few years back, it was a big revelation that Toronto, Ontario was said to have the worst gridlock in North America, judged to be even more odious than Los Angeles’s, New York’s, and Boise, Idaho’s. Today we learned that as a commuter, it’s still more pleasant to commute to work in cities including L.A., New York, Montreal,  Amsterdam and Berlin than it is in Toronto.

While experts warn that the sample size is small and therefore the “results” should not be read too far into, it merits mention that according to this CPI stat, Toronto is still far better for commuters than places like Beijing, Mexico City and Johannesburg, the three cities judged to have commuters in so much pain you’d think they were getting kicked in the nads while drinking their morning coffee every day.
