This picture was apparently taken by a concerned American Airline flight attendant who was concerned with the safety of the other passengers.
In more than one circumstance I have had to share my seat with a overweight passenger and it truly makes for an uncomfortable flight. Also the evacuation plan and snack service would be compromised.
This raises the debate as to whether or not an obese traveler should purchase more than one ticket when needed.
