Google’s Street View service, which lets you zoom into Google Maps and stroll through the city streets in a 3D environment has added on something that makes it even more impressive! The ancient Pompeii ruins can now be toured from the comfort of your home.

“Pompeii — the ruined and partially buried Roman city near Naples, Italy — is one of the most amazing sights one can see in one’s lifetime. The city was destroyed during an eruption of the volcano Mount Vesuvius in 79 A.D., but after it was rediscovered in 1738 and excavated in the late 19th century, it became one of the most important archaeological finds (and tourist attractions) of all time.”

This picture was apparently taken by a concerned American Airline flight attendant who was concerned with the safety of the other passengers.

In more than one circumstance I have had to share my seat with a overweight passenger and it truly makes for an uncomfortable flight. Also the evacuation plan and snack service would be compromised.

This raises the debate as to whether or not an obese traveler should purchase more than one ticket when needed.

Royal Caribbean’s ‘Oasis of the Seas’ will embark from Florida on Saturday for its inaugural seven-day cruise in the Caribbean with 5,400 passengers aboard. The ship is the largest in the world, and has been at Port Everglades since November 13.
