In last night’s highly anticipated matchup between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins things took an ugly turn when Boston’s monstrous defenceman Zdeno Chara drove Canadiens forward Max Pacioretty’s head into the turn-buckle between the two teams’ benches. Pacioretty was immediately knocked unconscious and lay face first on the ice for mutiple minutes without any movement. It was a dirty hit with ambiguous intentions and Chara should be punished by the league. It will be intersting to see how they deal with this. As of now the word on Pacioretty is that he was awake and responsive on the way to the hospital and had full movement in all his extremities.
