It’s being reported that North Korean leader Kim Jong-il has died.
According to a North Korean news agency, the 69 year old passed away after suffering from a heart attack while riding a train.
This was later confirmed by autopsy results.
His youngest son, Kim Jong-un, will be leading the head of state’s funeral committee.
Jong-il came to power in 1994.
He was considered almost a deity in North Korea.
By contrast, the western world saw him as a tyrant intent on developing his state into a nuclear power.
It is believed that Jong-un will be the son who succeeds him.
