Do-It-Yourself rocker Jerad Finck can handle his own. “Music gives me something to believe in,” he says. “It offers a direction for my life.” This kind of attitude has helped him along in his self made career and that direction has lead him to grow close to famous artists like Sister Hazel, Tony Lucca and Ingram Hill, all of whom he will be sharing a stage with in the upcoming months. continue reading...
Singer-songwriter Tony Lucca released his sixth studio album, “Rendezvous With The Angels,” on July 13, 2010, on Rock Ridge Music (through Warner Music Group’s Alternative Distribution Alliance). “Rendezvous With The Angels” finds Lucca crafting his most thoughtful, tuneful, and mature work yet. The album includes appearances by Lucca’s 2009 tour mate Sara Bareilles (who duets on “Back to Me”) and Lady Antebellum guitarist Jason “Slim” Gambill (featured on the bonus track “Nobody But You”). Most of the record was recorded in the fall of 2009 by Ron Probst — who also served as executive producer of the album with his wife Linda — at Mitch Easter’s Winston-Salem, North Carolina, studio, the Fidelitorium. Four tracks – “Long Love Letter,” “Make You Mine,” “Love Light,” and “Anchored” – were cut by producer Todd Beauchamp at his Vienna Circle Studios in Los Angeles. continue reading...
After 2 moderately successful albums it appears that Band of Horses are not going to stray to far from what works. That’s not necessarily a bad thing, but the songs still have to be good. With their 3rd album Infinite Arms Ben Bridwell’s vocals remain the centerpiece of the bands sound and when his powerhouse voice connects with a good melody, good things happen. This is definitely the case with the first single “Compliments” and the inclusion of crunchy guitars and a propulsive drum beat makes this tune a winner. Enjoy, continue reading...

Last year’s In & Out Of Control [Vice Music] found The Raveonettes pulling together all of the disparate sounds they’ve mastered over their decade-spanning career. From bubblegum pop and sinister noir rock, to fuzzed out noise and throbbing dance music, Sune Rose Wagner and Sharin Foo compiled it all on their fourth LP. But despite the album’s nomadic heart, the Raves’ true sweet spot has always been the ringing, reverbed guitars and slicked back melodies that make album standout “Heart of Stone” such a pleaser. Picking up where they left off on 2008’s “Black / White” collaboration, the band recently reunited with Blind to create a video deserving of the track. continue reading...

There are no shortage of live Pearl Jam shows, but this one is particularly cool as it dates back to April 3rd,1994, which is 8 months before they would release their 3rd album Vitalogy. Also of note is the fact that this show was recorded 2 days before Kurt Cobain killed himself. The sound quality is top notch and the band sounds as good as ever.
