Formed in Glasgow in 2003, Glasvegas is one of today’s most buzzed about alt rock bands. And with the unmistakable Scottish brogue of singer James Allan’s vocals, coupled with meaningful lyrics and the kind of music you know should fill an arena, it’s no wonder why. A blend of retro garage rock and with a modern edge, their aesthetic is appealing to the everyman in everyone. In this video, http://www.WatchMojo.com speaks with the band about how they’ve grown as a group, and we ask drummer Caroline what it’s like being the only girl in the band.
Glasvegas has toured with some of today’s biggest groups. U2, Kings of Leon and Oasis are just a few names you might have seen on the roster next to the band. The Glasgow music scene has also given birth to numerous bands, none of which sound similar to each other. In this second video we find out more about the Glasgow scene, gets the band to weigh in on Oasis’ most recent breakup, and we find out what it was like for Glasvegas to tour with the Gallagher brothers and U2. continue reading...
When dashing Danish duo The Raveonettes released In And Out Of Control to the masses last month, fans lucky enough to purchase the record from select indie retailers were rewarded with an exclusive bonus disc featuring “Planes Do Crash” and “The Chosen One,” two never-before-heard tracks. Of course, it was a “while supplies last” deal, so only a handful are still available (check out the website for details). But just as the stockpile begins to run low, RSD.com is offering up one of the songs — the jittery soda-shop stomp “The Chosen One” — for free. Fans who missed out on the physical goods can snag both exclusives when they buy the full album from ThinkIndie.com. continue reading...
