With Feist set to release her new album Metals on October 4th (which you can now stream online) it seemed appropriate to feature her in this weeks Flashback.  This particular solo performance of “Mushaboom” was my first exposure to Leslie Feist and I pretty much fell in love with her immediately.  Her moniter apparently cuts out mid song and she confusedly stops playing, but after a quick chat with the sound man she has no problem recovering.  It’s a memorable performance augmented by her impossibly sweet vocals and under-appreciated guitar playing.  I’m glad Feist is back.  Enjoy: continue reading...

There are no shortage of live Pearl Jam shows, but this one is particularly cool as it dates back to April 3rd,1994, which is 8 months before they would release their 3rd album Vitalogy.  Also of note is the fact that this show was recorded 2 days before Kurt Cobain killed himself.  The sound quality is top notch and the band sounds as good as ever. Click Here for access to the stream of the concert and check out the set list below: continue reading...
