The Stills are one of my favorite bands. Their first album got a lot of attention, but many wrote the band off as Interpol wannabes and it obviously had an effect on them. Their second album, Without Feathers was a radical shift in sound and a rejigging of the band. I personally think that both albums are ace and showcase a band that is willing to change things around and still create passionate and interesting music.
Anyways, its high time I featured a Stills video and I chose my favorite song off the first album, “Lola Stars and Stripes”. The video has some great shifts from calm to chaotic and black and white to color, that all synch with the musical shifts.
