New York City’s Collin McLoughlin seems to be taking an interesting approach to stardom in this post major label world we live in. Collin has release a majority of his material for low low cost of free. While they seem to be scattered across the web our favorite track is “Someday” that was tracked down here. The blogosphere is roaring about the guy and it looks like he’s set to blow. So don’t say I didn’t warn you when you can’t get a ticket for his show. continue reading...
McCartney played SNL over the weekend and managed to perform 5 songs and appear in a number of skits. Nobody does it as well or as respectfully as Paul. The man is a true legend and we’re lucky to still have him around and in such good shape. Watch him perform what might be the greatest song in the history of popular music (granted most of it was written by Lennon), “A Day In The Life” with a nice segway into “Give Peace A Chance”. Enjoy and be sure to sniff out the rest of the performances at NBC.com: continue reading...
Wow. Talk about your all time coolest surprise guests… Why does all the cool shit happen in New York City? In the encore of Phoenix’s Oct. 20th performance at MSG they were joined by countrymen Daft Punk in the middle of “If I Ever Feel Better” which then segued into “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and finally a collaborative “Around The World”. They then finished the show off with an extended Daft Punk-ified version of “1901″. Not too shabby. They crowd obviously goes mental. With Daft Punk’s scoring and cameo-ing in the upcoming Tron movie, lets hope that they continue to make surprise appearances… or even tour again!? Check out the videos from last night: continue reading...
Apple, are you watching?
This is quite obviously a stunt to generate some interest in the band, but it’s pretty damn cool nonetheless. Atomic Tom, a Brooklyn NY based band, play one of their songs called “Take Me Out” on an NYC subway car using nothing but their iPhones… yes, it sounds dumb, but it’s actually quite a good performance! It should be interesting to see how far this video takes them… Enjoy: continue reading...

This performance is right at the height of Strokes-mania, when they were the most buzzed about band on the planet and probably the most buzzed about band ever. Grunge, Alternative and Modern Rock had all lost their luster and the internet had quickly become an explosive new way to discover music and spread music. The Strokes basically capitalized on a fresh Garage Rock sound and a audience looking for something that wasn’t boy band Pop. The buzz was enormous, but luckily The Strokes had the songs to back it up. Their debut Is This It was one of the best albums of the decade and set the bar ridiculously high for everything that came after. This 2001 performance of “Last Nite” shows just how tight they were even back in the early days, and shows why the hype was justified in the first place. Now if only they could regain the heights of that first album…. continue reading...
