Well this was a nice surprise for a friday morning. After Spike Jonze used music from the Arcade Fire as a big part of the soundtrack for Where The Wild Things Are it was apparent that he was a fan of the band. Today you can watch his brand new video for the title track of the Arcade Fire’s amazing new album The Suburbs. The video is one part nostalgia, one part E.T. and one part love story (I think…), but it all amounts to an incredibly interesting video. After a triumphant reunion show at Lollapalooza this year Soundgarden has dug into the archives for a b-side from the Badmotorfinger era called “Black Rain”. The song will be available on the upcoming career retrospective album Telephantasm, in-stores 9/28. Chris Cornell has just premiered the video for “Scream,” the title track off of his Timbaland produced album due out next year. Directed by Alan Ferguson (Fall Out Boy, Gym Class Heroes), the cinematic piece captures the two opposing moods of the song. “My role in the video is performing the song in super-slow-motion,” explains Cornell. “I’m existing in this Zen-like world, singing these song lyrics and everything going on around me is super-fast, super-chaotic, and I’m just suspended in it.” continue reading...
