Muse, in my mind, have become one of the must-see arena bands touring the world right now. I guarantee you that even a person who knows nothing about the band will enjoy their performance. Impressive musicianship and an amazing stage presence for such big venues, this band is nothing short of a force to be reckoned in a live setting. This performance is from a show in Teignmouth, England (probably in 2009) and features “Supermassive Black Hole”, a tune from the 2006 album Black Holes and Revelations. I could have picked a dozen different tunes to showcase how powerful this band is live, but I particularly like this one for Matt Bellamy’s solo and his use of the touch-pad on his guitar… awesome. A short while ago a million and forty music journos and bloggers (myself included, as you can see here) expressed well, whatever they cared to express about the fact that Metric was asked to write a song for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse soundtrack and happily obliged. The better among these folks probably mentioned that the track was more or less decided upon to be the lead-off track to the album and most probably opined that this represents a stunning bit of good fortune for Metric, as the soundtrack to one of the year’s presumed biggest box office hits is almost certain to be bought and listened to by scores of people (even if they’re mostly tweens, teens, and undersexed housewives). continue reading...

This is hilarious. MUSE went on Italian TV and were told that they had to lip-sync their song. MUSE then decided they’d switch up their instruments and singer Matt Bellamy ends up on drums, bassist Chris Wosltenholme is on guitar and syths and drummer Dominic Howard is on bass and lead vocals. Bellamy’s performance on drums alone is priceless, it seems the Italian audience has no idea whats up.
