I chose “Fade To Black” from Ride The Lightning because I think it’s a great song that captures both the melodic capabilities of the band as well as the crushing power of the musicians together. This week’s flashback is another performance that features a guest musician but instead of a vocalist, this one features guitarist Kirk Hammett of Metallica. The setting is the 2008 outdoor festival called Bonnaroo and the song is “One Big Holiday” by one of the greatest and most underrated bands in the current musical landscape, My Morning Jacket.
