Ted Leo and the Pharmacists continue to pump out top notch rock and roll and hopefully this new collaboration with Funny or Die exposes the band to some new fans.   The video is hilarious and takes some pretty obvious jabs at Green Day and their new Broadway show.  “Bottled In Cork” is also a great track from a great album called The Brutalist Bricks, check it out. Jimmy Fallon has dedicated this entire week to the re-issued Rolling Stones album Exile On Main Street and has a different band covering a tune from the album each night.  Monday night saw Green Day cover “Rip This Joint” and they do a pretty solid job.  Should be interesting to see who else performs… continue reading...

Green Day has just premiered the video for their new single, “21 Guns,” exclusively on MySpace Music. The video was helmed by noted director Marc Webb, who has lensed clips for such artists as My Chemical Romance, Weezer, and All-American Rejects, and is making his feature film directorial debut in July with (500) Days of Summer. continue reading...

Seems like there has been a really long build up to this album, no?  I’ve given 21st Century Breakdown one full listen and my first impressions are lukewarm.  A number of songs immediately caught my ear, and bunch kind of floated by without much interest. I’m not ready to write it off as a failure just yet, I think it needs at least 2 more full listens until I can make my decision and I have a feeling I’ll be more positive after a more thorough absorption. continue reading...

Green Day will release 21st Century Breakdown, the long awaited follow-up to American Idiot, on Friday May 15th. The album, produced by Butch Vig (Nirvana, AFI, Smashing Pumpkins), features the single “Know Your Enemy.” While fans can buy the album in-stores on the 15th, those eager to hear the new record can do so now on Rhapsody.com where the album is streaming in its entirety. continue reading...

Green Day have just released a behind-the-scenes look at their new video for “Know Your Enemy.” The clip, while short, gives a glimpse into what’s in store for fans in the forthcoming video.
