The Brothers Gallagher finally announce some more information on their upcoming album release. The title is Dig Out Your Soul in stores on Oct. 3rd and the first single is called “The Shock of the Lightning” which will hit airwaves on Sept. 26th. Here are a few of Noel’s comments in regards to the new album:
“If ‘The Shock of the Lightning’ sounds instant and compelling to you, it’s because it was written dead fast. And recorded dead fast. ‘The Shock of The Lightning’ basically is the demo. And it has retained its energy. And there’s a lot to be said for that, I think.” continue reading...
“Whatever” is a song that was recorded between Oasis’ first and second album and released on a Christmas time EP. The song managed to climb all the way to #3 on the UK charts but still remains relatively unknown to most casual fans of the band. Its too bad, because I think its one of the best songs they ever created. Its got Noel’s favorite chords, but in a fairly interesting progression, and features some of Liam’s best vocals. Besides that it also features a string section that vaults the song into even greater sonic territory. This song is best played quite loud and with multiple people singing along. Classic Oasis:
