Dr. Dog are more than just Philly faves these days. Since releasing We All Belong in early 2007, the five piece are loved coast to coast and have caught the eyes and ears of MTV, Billboard, Pitchfork, The Fader, Spin Magazine, and LA Times just to name a few. New album Fate, due July 22nd on Park the Van Records, is poised to propel the Dr. Dog (summer of) love fest even further. Dr. Dog will release a collection of rare tracks on March 4th via Park the Van Records. Initially released as unmastered streaming audio on the band’s website, www.weallbelong.net, the ten re-mastered tracks on Passed Away are a lo-fi assortment of 4-track recordings made over the past five years leading up to and surrounding their 2007 breakout album We All Belong. Passed Away is just Dr. Dog recording songs because that’s what they do, not for anyone but kind of for everyone at the same time. continue reading...
