I have recently rediscovered the awesomeness that is Andrew W.K.. I remember him hitting the scene years ago and not really knowing what to make of him, but thinking he was the most enthusiastic party animal I had ever seen. His interviews were hilarious and his music so over the top that it was considered borderline genius by a number of critics. I recently stumbled across W.K. again recently, admittedly for different reasons…, but saw his video for “Party Hard” and was reminded of what I liked about this dude in the first place. The song is a barrage of power chords and ridiculous lyrics and the video is almost an hommage to long-haired head banging, not to mention the backdrop features the album art from I Get Wet, which is one of the best album covers of all time. I’ve heard a few rumblings of these Radiohead conspiracies over the last few days, but Stereogum.com has summed it up pretty well on their end.
