Atreyu are currently touring in support of their Hollywood Records debut, Lead Sails Paper Anchor. Atreyu constantly want to grow musically with each new record. LOS ANGELES, CA – ATREYU’s Lead Sails Paper Anchor rocketed onto Billboard’s Top 200 this week at No. 8, and Billboard’s Rock and Hard Rock Album charts at No. 1, making it the highest-charting album of the band’s career. The debut is also significant in that Atreyu distinguish themselves as one among a very short list of hard rock acts to have debuted in the Top 10 this year.
News of the album’s explosive arrival follows a flurry of headline-making moves for Atreyu, who were recently named as a headliner on one of the biggest tours of the new year: “Rockstar Taste of Chaos Tour.” That announcement comes on the heels of the Family Values Tour, which saw Atreyu play third on the bill and share stages alongside Korn and Evanescence. Atreyu have filmed a video series documenting the recording process of their new album, Lead Sails Paper Anchor, due out August 28th. Atreyu teamed with producer John Feldmann (The Used, Good Charlotte) on the follow-up to A Death-Grip On Yesterday. This next installment of the video series opens Atreyu’s book of guitar-methodology and open highway of creative writing between guitarists Dan Jacobs and Travis Miguel on Lead Sails Paper Anchor. With the E3 video game expo winding down, news about all of the major upcoming video game releases is everywhere. No game can compare to the juggernaut that is the Madden franchise. For the second year in a row, Atreyu will premiere a new song in the blockbuster game. In Madden ’08, Atreyu have issued their first single “Becoming The Bull,” off their new album Lead Sails Paper Anchor, into the game. Madden ‘08 will be released August 14th, with Atreyu’s Lead Sails Paper Anchor docking in stores on August 28th.
The Madden franchise has always made an effort to include the best new music available and this year is no exception. In addition to Atreyu, tracks from Hellyeah, Ozzy Osbourne, Queens of the Stone Age, Shadows Fall, and The Used will all be featured on the soundtrack. continue reading...
